1. About these terms

These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) form an agreement between you and the operator of truedpianalyzer.com (“we”, “us”, the “Site”). They apply to every page of the Site and to any feature we add later. Our Privacy Policy is incorporated into these Terms and explains how data is handled.

2. The service

The Site provides a free, browser-based tool for estimating the DPI (dots per inch) of a computer mouse from pointer movement counts and a physical distance you measure yourself. The service is offered “as is”, without registration, and we may change, suspend or discontinue any part of it at any time without notice.

3. Permitted use

Subject to these Terms, we grant you a personal, worldwide, non-exclusive, revocable, royalty-free licence to access and use the Site for lawful purposes, including testing your own or a device you are authorised to test. You may link to the Site and quote short passages of its text with attribution.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• use the Site for any unlawful purpose or to infringe the rights of others;
• attempt to disrupt, overload, reverse engineer or gain unauthorised access to the Site or its infrastructure, including through automated scraping beyond ordinary search indexing;
• reproduce the Site’s code, design or content as the basis of a competing commercial service without written permission;
• misrepresent results obtained from the Site as manufacturer-certified or lab-verified measurements;
• remove attributions or present the Site’s content as your own.

5. Your measurements and results

All distances, surfaces, swipes and results are yours. You are responsible for the accuracy of the physical distance you enter and for interpreting the output. Because the tool runs locally, results exist only in your browser; we cannot recover, verify or archive them for you.

6. No warranty — accuracy disclaimer

The Site is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Site will be uninterrupted, error-free or available at any particular time, nor that any DPI figure produced is correct.

A browser-based measurement depends on your mouse sensor, surface, skates, operating system pointer settings, display scaling, your ruler and your swipe. Results are estimates for informational purposes only and must not be relied on as certified test data, as a basis for warranty or commercial claims, or for any purpose where an inaccurate value could cause harm.

7. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we and our contributors shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or any loss of data, profits, goodwill or business interruption, arising out of or in connection with your use of (or inability to use) the Site, whether based in contract, tort or otherwise, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.

Where liability cannot be excluded, our total aggregate liability for claims relating to the Site is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us to use the Site in the twelve months before the claim arose (which is zero, since the Site is free) or USD 100.

8. Intellectual property

The Site’s text, design, logo, graphics, and original code are owned by us or our licensors and are protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. Open-source components remain subject to their respective licences. Nothing in these Terms transfers ownership of anything to you.

9. Third-party links

The Site may link to external resources (for example, mouse manufacturer pages or browsers’ documentation). Those sites are not under our control, we do not endorse or assume responsibility for their content, and your dealings with them are governed by their own terms.

10. Changes to the Site and to these terms

We may update the Site and these Terms at any time. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page reflects the current version. Continuing to use the Site after a change constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms; if you do not accept them, stop using the Site. We recommend checking this page periodically.

11. Termination

We may restrict or terminate your access to the Site at any time, with or without cause, particularly if you breach these Terms. Sections that by their nature should survive (including disclaimers, limitation of liability and intellectual property) survive termination.

12. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws applicable in the jurisdiction where the Site operator is established, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Mandatory consumer protections in your country of residence remain unaffected. If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in full force.
