1. Who we are

This Privacy Policy applies to truedpianalyzer.com (the “Site”), a free browser-based mouse TrueDPI analyzer operated by the owner of the Site (“we”, “us”). For any question about this policy or a request relating to your personal data, contact [email protected].

2. Information we receive

Nothing from you. The Site has no registration, no login and no form that sends data to us. We do not ask for your name, email, address or payment details, and we have no database of measurements — the tool has no server component capable of storing one.

Standard server logs. Like every website, our hosting provider records technical request data when your browser fetches a page: IP address, the URL requested, date and time, referrer URL, user-agent string and response status. These logs are a normal security and debugging measure. They contain no DPI results, distances or swipe data, because none of that is ever sent in a request.

3. What happens in your browser

The analyzer uses the Pointer Lock API to capture raw movement deltas while you swipe. That computation — summing counts, dividing by the distance you entered, computing the median and spread — happens locally in JavaScript. The result is rendered to the page, kept in local storage so a reload can restore it, and, if you use the share feature, encoded into the address bar of your own browser. Nothing in this pipeline calls a server, and no network request is made with your measurement.

4. Cookies and local storage

We set no cookies. There is no advertising, affiliate or analytics cookie on this Site, and no cookie banner is required because there is nothing to consent to.

Local storage is used only for the following, and never for tracking:

• theme — stored value: light or dark. Remembers the colour theme you picked. Set only when you press the theme toggle.
• dpi-analyzer.session.v1 — stored value: distance, unit, direction, mouse name, sensitivity settings, swipe runs. Saved locally so the analyzer picks up where you left off after a reload or a later visit. It never leaves your browser and is never sent to a server. “Clear runs” empties it.

You can clear these at any time by clearing site data for this domain in your browser settings; the Site keeps working normally afterwards.

5. Third parties

We do not use third-party analytics, advertising networks, session replay, heat-mapping or social media pixels. Typefaces (Inter and JetBrains Mono), icons and scripts are downloaded at build time and served from our own domain, so loading a page does not disclose your IP address or browsing behaviour to Google Fonts or any similar provider.

6. How we use and share data

We do not sell, rent, trade or share personal data, because we do not collect any. The only data we ever see is the server logs described above, used for operating and securing the Site (for example investigating abusive traffic). We do not use them to build profiles, and we do not combine them with data from other sources.

7. Retention

Server logs are retained by our hosting provider for a short operational period (typically no more than 30 days) unless they are needed to investigate a security incident, in which case they are kept only for as long as that investigation requires. Local storage entries remain on your device until you clear them. We hold no other data to retain or delete.

8. Your rights

Depending on where you live (including the EU/EEA under the GDPR, the UK, and California under the CCPA/CPRA), you may have the right to request access to, correction of or deletion of personal data about you, to object to or restrict its processing, and to data portability. Because we hold almost nothing, most requests will resolve to confirmation that no personal data about you is stored by us beyond the short-lived server logs.

To exercise any right, email [email protected]. We will respond within the period your local law requires — 30 days under the GDPR. In the UK, complaints go to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO); in California, to the California Privacy Protection Agency (CPPA); elsewhere, to your national data protection authority.

9. Children

The Site is a technical tool intended for a general audience and is not directed at children under 13 (or the higher age of digital consent in your country). We knowingly collect no data from anyone, children included. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.

10. Security

The Site is served over HTTPS and, by design, stores almost nothing worth stealing. No system is perfectly secure, but keeping the data surface near zero is our primary security control.

11. Changes to this policy

If we ever add analytics, advertising or any feature that changes what we collect, we will update this page and move the “Last updated” date above before those changes take effect. Material changes will be announced on the homepage.
